Since 2003, I have written and maintained pcb-gcode, a plugin for the Eagle schematic capture and board layout program. Pcb-gcode generates gcode to be used by a CNC router or milling machine to cut out tracks in a printed circuit board, as well as drill holes for components, cut the board out, and even engrave text. This replaces methods of producing printed circuit boards that use toxic chemicals. It also results in faster turnaround time than ordering prototype boards from vendors. Currently there are over three thousand members in the Yahoo! User’s group from around the world.
The program is free and supported by myself and its users.
The latest version is available at the pcb-gcode website.
The user’s manual is availableĀ here.
